Luxurious Kid Mohair socks designed for serious outdoor pursuits!
Countrysocks sell unique socks produced from Supersoft and durable Kid Mohair fleece shorn from the youngest Angora Goats. The shearing process is beneficial to the animal to prevent disease and insect infestation. We only use shorn fleece in our yarn. We hope that they are amongst the finest Mohair socks sold as we only use the finest Kid Mohair Fleece grown in the UK. Aside from being far warmer than wool the Mohair fibre has better tensile strength than just about any other natural fibre other than Silk. The warmth is created by the air in the centre of the hollow (medulated ) Mohair fibres, the lack of scale structure on the surface of the fibre derives a super silky and soft handle. Our Superfine Kid Mohair socks also have natural wicking properties that remove moisture from the surface of the foot and reduce the potential for bacterial problems. The finest Kid Mohair is used to produce a far more luxurious Mohair sock than generally sold as the term Kid Mohair denotes the finest fleece of the Angora Goat. The socks are made entirely in the United Kingdom, we hand dye and finish all of our socks to the highest standards.
